New
York based Lost Patrol blends surf, pop and spaghetti-western sensibilities
into a fresh, ephemeral sound that you don't hear often these days.
The true genius of the group's music is that it reminds
you of your favorite movie rather than your favorite band. Listening to
this CD probably will remind you of your favorite David Lynch movie quicker
than it will of your favorite Dick Dale album, and after all, a good album
should be a movie for your ears.
The band's self-described "surf twang from metroburbia"
approach takes themes explored by Ennio Morricone in soundtracks such
as "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and churns out a hybrid
of soulful, interstellar pop music. There are plenty of hooks to go around,
and the playing is top notch.
