Launch and Landing

8 out of 10
After
6 independently produced albums, including the wonderful "Launch
and Landing," this American quartet has finally and well-deservingly
been signed to the German Kalinkaland Records, who will produce a selection
of the best songs by the end of 2007 (including a few new tunes). In this
last album there are 12 songs (+1), in which The Lost Patrol put us at
very sunny beach cooled off by the breeze of the ocean. The "surf
music" guitars are more present in this album and unite with the
psychedelic melodies, harmonious rhythms and the sweet and refreshing
voice of Danielle. A few pinches of pop, a few other of lounge, some essences
of ethereal and darkwave and influences by Cocteau Twins, The Sundays,
Echo & The Bunnymen (among others) form the sonority of this brilliant
band. Emphasis to "The Whim and the Hill" and "Sirens".
Luiz Soncini (translation by "Telma Sue").
